A very interesting take on bike helmets in urban environment

April 6th, 2012 by

This speech by Mr Mikael Colville-Andersen really got me thinking… My take on the bike helmet is that…well, it cannot hurt, but it may or may not help…so why not use it :just in case” ? Is past data enough to convince you to stop wearing the helmet? Or does it make more sense to pressure the manufacturers to come up with safer solutions? Should there be a serious campaign aimed at dangers of driving? I believe so. Should there be improved infrastructure separating cars from cyclists? GOD yes! (in Vancouver, anyway.) Should cars come with warning labels?…I will settle for better driver training…
